jeremy + jennifer
Jeremy and Jennifer met in graduate school at Northern Arizona University. Jennifer’s family was from out of town, so when Jeremy was ready to propose, he had to think ahead to get the traditional blessing.
He bought Jennifer’s ring a month before his proposal so that he could ask permission from Jennifer’s father when he came to visit the couple in Arizona. Once her father gave his blessing, Jeremy was ready to pop the question. A month later, Jeremy came home with roses to propose to a very surprised Jennifer, whose “YES!” started off the planning.
But when they started their wedding preparations, the pair had to look for vendors far from home. Their big day brought them from Arizona to Bath, Michigan for a beautiful September celebration.
Jeremy and Jennifer threw the kind of wedding guests love—comfortable, fun, and tasty! The couple had a casual summer barbecue wedding at the Eagle Eye golf course and banquet center. After a short garden ceremony, the reception treated 100 guests to a barbecue dinner. And the couple’s own bottled barbecue sauce served as their wedding favor! As the newly married Mr. and Mrs. Cobb, they cleverly deemed it “Barbecobb sauce.”
Jeremy and Jennifer coordinated several unique details to make their wedding one-of-a-kind, including printing word games on their program and incorporating a tandem bike (like the one they own!) into their barbecue sauce label. The couple even took lessons to choreograph a very memorable first dance. And Jennifer opted for a non-floral bouquet from Australia made out of stunning white and embellished buttons!
In true DIY-bride fashion, Jennifer made all of her wedding cupcakes from scratch! The couple chose unique flavors, offering snickerdoodle and gluten-free black bottom cupcakes. Jennifer made sure one cupcake was thoroughly smashed into her new husband’s face. Though he fed a cupcake to his new wife more gracefully, Jeremy took it all in stride! Adding to the sweets was a candy bar for guests. And for late-night energy, all were treated to pizza, which kept everyone dancing until the reception site closed at midnight!
Matt Pratt Photography caught all the highlights of the day in photos the couple could take back with them to Arizona—including some wonderful shots of the bride flexing her bicep and Jeremy and his groomsmen doing “the robot.” Jeremy and Jennifer’s wedding made for a day neither the couple, nor their guests, will ever forget!
